We don’t often get to hear about the people behind WordCamps… so here you go… these are the living legends responsible for bringing you this event… Feel free to shower them with affection and gratitude… and if you have any other kind of feedback, or ideas or suggestions about WordCamp Melbourne 2013, feel free to direct that to them as well!!
Dee Teal is a front end developer working primarily with the Genesis Theme framework building sites for small to medium business and under contract to a few local agencies. She’s been using WordPress exclusively for at least two years having had her mind blown with its possibilities at her first WordCamp, WordCamp Melbourne in 2011. Since then she’s been a sold out advocate of WordPress meetups, WordCamps and the WordPress community as a whole (so much so you can hear her speak about getting involved in the WordPress Community on WordPress TV from her talk at WCNZ 2012).

Peter Wilson – Building websites since 1994, Peter established the web presence for Roving Enterprises until 2006. In 2009 he co-established web production studio, Soupgiant. He is passionate about coding and it’s what he does in his spare time. He writes all things web at the Big Red Tin blog and contributes to Smashing Magazine.

Tracey Kemp Tracey is a designer who taught herself CSS, some basic PHP and MySQL to build a friend’s band a new website. After that, thanks to word of mouth, soon she was doing other band sites in her ‘spare’ time. Fast forward a few years and she had more work than she could handle while working a full time job so, she went freelance to focus on her own clients.
After experimenting with other content management systems, Tracey discovered WordPress and it quickly became her exclusive choice for building new sites – she hasn’t looked back!
